Energy Fest 1.0 held at KUET

The Student Welfare Centre of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) witnessed the grand celebration of its first-ever "Energy Fest 1.0." Organized by the Department of Energy Science and Engineering, the festival took place on Friday, December 13, featuring three competitions and a seminar that attracted students, researchers, and guests from across the country, creating a unique and vibrant atmosphere.

The festival included competitions aimed at finding innovative solutions to real-world problems, a platform for showcasing design skills through CAD proficiency, and a poster presentation event highlighting new ideas and research in the energy sector. Participants demonstrated their creativity and ingenuity in these events, which ran throughout the day, culminating in an awards ceremony in the evening.

The Vice-Chancellor of KUET, Professor Dr. Muhammad Masud, attended as the chief guest, while Summit Power Limited's General Manager, Md. Mizanur Rahman, and Managing Director of RASS Associates Limited, Md. Shah Alam, were present as special guests. The event was presided over by Professor Dr. Mohammad Hasan Ali, Head of the Department of Energy Science and Engineering.

Speaking about the event, Assistant Professor of Energy Science and Engineering and festival coordinator Md. Mahmudul Alam said, "This festival is not just a competitive event. It is a platform to nurture the creativity and innovative capabilities of students. Improving the energy sector can reduce reliance on foreign supplies, enhance economic security, and open new avenues for domestic industries."

The event highlighted the significance of energy innovation and skill development, underscoring its potential impact on the nation's progress and sustainability.
